A chronic degenerative process that narrows the cervical canal and compresses the spinal cord is the source of the motoric or sensory clinical syndrome known as cervical spondylosis myelopathy (CSM). the spinal cord's vascular patency is disturbed and chronic compression is caused by the canalis spinalis narrowing. Repetitive stress to the flexion, extension, and rotation worsens this. The prevalence of CSM has been reported at around 12.33 of 100.000 cases per year, with most patients coming from 6 to 7 decades of their lives. Apoptosis plays a critical role in important biological processes such as morphogenesis, tissue homeostasis, and immunity; furthermore, its aberrant activation or impairment may contribute to a number of diseases. In apoptosis, a certain amount of AIF plays a significant role in contributing to cell death. This study uses experimental study with Post-test Only Control Group, using New Zealand rabbits. In order to cause CSM, the rabbits were administered cervical compression up to C5. The tissue from the compression area of the spinal cord was removed, and a histopathological analysis was performed to determine the expression of apoptotic factors such AIF. In an animal research, clinical myelopathy caused by chronic compression of the spinal cord led to complete extremity paralysis. According to this study, from day 7 to day 14, the expression of AIF is rising in the compression group. AIF increases on days 7 and 14 as a result of chronic spinal cord compression; this may be due to an increase in apoptotic expression observed in animal studies.en_US
