Analisis Kerapatan Vegetasi Mangrove serta Partisipasi Kelompok Tani dalam Upaya Pelestarian Hutan Mangrove di Desa Pangkalan Batu, Kabupaten Langkat

Abstract

Mangrove forests have an important role in preserving coastal ecosystems, the high level of human intervention greatly affects the decline in mangrove ecosystem conditions. The need to maintain a balance in the relationship between humans and the environment. The preservation of mangrove forests can be done with the support and active participation of farmer groups. In the implementation of mangrove forest conservation, it is necessary to analyze the density and participation of farmer groups to determine the level of density and willingness of farmer groups in planting activities. This study aims to analyze the density of mangrove forests and the level of participation of farmer groups. The data collection was carried out in January–March 2023 in Pangkalan Batu Village. The research data collection was conducted using direct-to-field survey methods, interviews with farmer groups, and density analysis methods. The questionnaire data was processed using the Likert scale method with a scale of 1- 3. While the density analysis data is processed using the density calculation method. Theresults showed that the types of mangroves found were eight types. The density of mangrove forest in Pangkalan Batu Village is 1,759 ind/hha in good condition with very dense criteria. The farmer group participation rate of 92.8 indicates that the farmer group agrees and is ready to help carry out planting, maintenance, and supervision of mangrove forests.
