Objective:
Analyzing the mean caliber of the renal arteries based on kidney function in patients who underwent Abdominal CT Scan with intravenous contrast at H. Adam Malik General Hospital Medan.
Methods:
Case control study in patients who underwent abdominal CT scanning with intravenous contrast. The population of this study were all patients who underwent abdominal CT scanning with intravenous contrast at H. Adam Malik General Hospital Medan from January to November 2022. Meanwhile, the study sample was a portion of the population that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data is secondary data obtained from medical record data of patients who have undergone an abdominal CT scan
Results:
The table above shows that the caliber of the right renal artery in subjects with GFR > 60 ml/minute (4.29 + 0.75mm) is greater than in subjects with GFR of 30-60 ml/minute (3.09 + 0.76mm). The same thing happened to the left renal artery. In the bivariate test using the Mann Whitney test, it was found that there was a significant difference in the mean caliber of the right renal artery based on kidney function (p <0.001) and the left renal artery (p <0.001) in study subjects with GFR > 60 ml/minute compared to GFR 30- 60ml/min.
Conclusion:
There is a difference in the average caliber of the renal arteries in patients who underwent abdominal CT scanning with intravenous contrast at H. Adam Malik General Hospital Medan based on gender, body surface area and age. However, there is no difference in mean renal artery caliber based on blood pressure.
