Analysis Of Emotional Intelligence, Gender, Financial Rewards, Professional Recognition, and Labor Market Considerations That Influence The Interest Of Accounting Students In Choosing A Career As A Public Accountant (Study On Students Majoring In Accounting At The University Of North Sumatra and Students Majoring In Accounting At The University Of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra
Abstract
This research was conducted at the University of North Sumatra and Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra with the aim of knowing whether emotional intelligence, gender, financial rewards, professional recognition, and labor market considerations affect the interest of accounting students in choosing a career as public accountants. This research is quantitative associative research. The sample in this study found 82 accounting students from the University of North Sumatra and Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression using SPSS 19. The results of this study indicate that emotional intelligence has no significant effect on students' interest in becoming public accountants. Gender has no effect on students' interest in becoming public accountants. Financial awards have no effect on students' interest in becoming public accountants. Professional recognition has a significant effect on students' interest in becoming public accountants. Labor market considerations have a significant effect on students' interest in becoming public accountants
