Perbedaan Kadar Immature Platelet Fraction pada Penderita Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 dengan Tanpa Nefropati Diabetik

Abstract

Introduction :Diabetes is the third leading cause of death worldwide, with diabetic nephropathy being a serious complication resulting in kidney failure. The prevalence of diabetic nephropathy varies, but is increasing globally. IPF has been associated with poor glycemic control and cardiovascular complications in diabetes. This study aims to identify differences in immature platelet fraction (IPF) levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus sufferers with and without diabetic nephropathy. Method : The research was conducted using the Cross Section method. This study took blood samples from 47 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and diabetic nephropathy, of which 28 patientstype 2 diabetes mellitus with diabetic nephropathy and 19 patientstype 2 diabetes mellitus without diabetic nephropathy. All blood samples were taken from a vein and the IPF value was checked for all patients. Results : In this study, the average IPF value for all patients was 3.82±1,49. There is a significant difference between the IPF values in patientstype 2 diabetes mellitus with diabetic nephropathy and patientstype 2 diabetes mellitus without diabetic nephropathy (p<0.001). The IPF cutoff value for type 2 DM patients with diabetic nephropathy and type 2 diabetes patients without diabetic nephropathy is 3.25 with a sensitivity of 86.2% and a specificity of 83.3%. Conclusion: The IPF value in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients can be used as a parameter that can predict the incidence of diabetic nephropathy.
