    Abstract
Background: SARS-CoV-2 has infected globally with symptoms varying from mild, moderate, severe and critical. von Willebrand Factor (vWF) is a platelet adhesive and aggregation protein, produced by endothelial cells and megakaryocytes, which carries coagulation factor VIII and can be a marker of endothelial cell activation that is secreted in the event of vascular damage mediated by inflammation. Aim: Analyze the relationship between von Willebrand Factor (vWF) levels and severity of COVID-19. Method: This research is an analytical study with a cross sectional method. COVID-19 patients treated at H. Adam Malik General Hospital Medan are grouped based on severity into the moderate group and the severe-critical group. Examination of the patient's serum vWF levels using the quantitative sandwich ELISA method with Chemwell analyzer. After the data was collected, an analysis of the relationship between vWF levels and the severity of COVID- 19 was carried out using the Independent T test. P value <0.05 considered a significant result. Results: Of the 40 subjects, it was found that COVID-19 patients were predominantly male with an average age of 52.15 years old. More COVID-19 patients being treated at H. Adam Malik General Hospital Medan were moderate COVID-19 (72.5%). It was found that there was a significant relationship between vWF levels and the severity of COVID-19 (p = 0.005), with a cut off value of vWF levels is 57.94 ng/mL to predict the severity of COVID-19. Conclusion: Serum vWF levels can be a predictor of COVID-19 severity
