    Abstract
The rice crop system, the main food commodity for the Indonesian population with a production of around 54.75 million tons of milled dry grain (MDG) with a harvest area of 0.45 million hectares or an increase of 40.87 thousand hectares (0.39 percent) compared to 2021. Rice production is strongly influenced by cultivation, planting varieties and pest and disease attacks on rice plants. This study aims to inventory insect diversity in Hamparan Perak Village, Hamparan Perak District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra from April to July 2023.This study used Purposive Random Sampling with 4 variations of sap, namely rubber sap (Hevea brasiliensis), jackfruit sap (Artocarpus heterophyllus), papaya sap (Carica papaya), and Jatropha curcas sap with Hazton planting system. The results showed that insects caught on land using rubber latex (H. brasiliensis) were 2397 spesies, the most of the three other latex other with 8 orders and 29 families, while the lowest was using jatropha sap (J.curcas) (8 orders, 29 families, 1159 spesies). As for the calculation of the diversity index (H'): (H'gk=2.98, H'gn=1.88, H'gp=3.30, H'gj=3.27), Species Richness Index ((R'): (R'gk=7.78, R'gn=7.73, R'gp=7.10, and R'gj=7.05), and Index of Evenness (E'): (E'gk=0.88, E'gn=0.55, E'gp=0.98 and E'gj=0.97). The status of insect functions identified on the land using the five gums as many as 5 types, namely herbivores, pollinators, predators, parasitoids and scavengers.
