Abstract

Preconception care is the provision of biomedical, behavioral, and social health interventions or actions to women and couples before pregnancy occurs. The goal of this care is to improve health status and reduce individual and environmental behaviors and factors that contribute to poor maternal and infant health. The aim is to identify risks or issues that can be discovered through biomedical examinations, maternal health behaviors, and other social conditions. This study aims to conduct a case study in Nursing Care Management for women of reproductive age (WRA) with Preconception Care Education interventions, starting from assessment, problem analysis, planning, actions, and nursing evaluation. The method used is a case study with a descriptive single-case design involving one individual client. The results of this research indicate three nursing problems: lack of knowledge, readiness to accept preconception care, and insufficient awareness among women of reproductive age regarding preconception care. Interventions were carried out through education using leaflets, posters, and modules. The outcomes obtained after the intervention show that women of reproductive age are able to understand the goals of preconception care, perform preconception care, and utilize healthcare facilities. Client evaluation shows an understanding of the concept and implementation of preconception care. Recommendations are provided to women of reproductive age to better comprehend preconception care in order to prevent stunting.
