dc.description.abstract | The efforts to enhance the productivity and quality of basil plants can be achieved by improving the planting medium. Using a combination of topsoil with manure, topsoil with sand, and topsoil with husk charcoal supports the growth and production of the plants. Additionally, applying different doses of N, P, and K fertilizers can increase their growth and production. The objective of these research was to study the effects of planting media and varying doses of N, P, and K fertilizers on the growth and production of Basil (Ocimum basilicum L.). The research utilized a factorial randomized block design with 2 factors. The first factor involved the composition of planting media with 3 types: topsoil with cow manure (3:1), topsoil and sand (3:1), and topsoil and husk charcoal (3:1). The second factor was N, P, and K fertilizers with 4 types: a mixture of fertilizers with 0.5 g Urea, 0.375 g SP-36, 0.5 g KCl; a mixture of fertilizers with 0.5 g Urea, 0.75 g SP-36, 0.5 g KCl; 0.5 g Urea, 0.375 g SP-36, 1 g KCl; and 1 g Urea, 0.375 g SP-36, 0.5 g KCl. The results of these research showed that the planting medium consisting of topsoil with cow manure increased: plant height, leaf count, branch count, shoot/root fresh weight, , shoot/root dry weight, root volume, economic weight, harvest index, chlorophyll A, B, and total. Applying fertilizer with a dose of 1g Urea; 0.375 SP-36, and 0.5g KCl increased plant height, leaf count, branch count, shoot/root fresh weight , shoot/root dry weight, root volume, economic weight, harvest index, chlorophyll A, B, and total. The interaction between the planting media composition and various levels of N, P, and K fertilizer doses increased plant height, leaf count, branch count, shoot/root fresh weight, shoot dry weight, and chlorophyll A, but did not affect the parameters of root dry weight, root volume, economic weight, harvest index, chlorophyll B, and total | en_US |
