dc.description.abstract | Sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) is a food crop whose production can be
increased by paying attention to fertilization and the use of the number of seeds per
planting hole. This research aims to increase the growth and production of sweet
corn plants. This research was carried out on Jalan Balai Kelurahan, Sempakata,
Medan Selayang District, Medan City, at an altitude of ±39 meters above sea level.
This research was conducted from May 2023 to August 2023. This research used a
factorial randomized block design consisting of 3 replications and 2 treatment factors.
The first factor is the combination of fertilizer doses of Urea, SP-36 and KCl:
P0 (without fertilizer); P1 (200 kg Urea +100 kg SP-36 +75 kg KCl)/Ha; P2 (350
kg Urea +200 kg SP-36 + 150 kg KCl)/Ha and P3 (400 kg Urea + 250 kg SP-36 +
200 kg KCl)/Ha. The second factor is the number of seeds with planting holes: B1
(1 seed with planting holes), B2 (2 seeds with planting holes), and B3 (3 seeds with
planting holes). The results of the research combined fertilizer doses of Urea, SP-
36 and KCl had a significant effect on plant height 3-5 weeks after planting, stem
diameter, leaf area, crown and root wet weight, crown and root dry weight, flowering
age, ear length and diameter. without husks, wet weight of planted cobs, total
wet weight of cobs in planting holes, wet weight of cobs per plot and harvest index.
The treatment of the number of seeds with holes in the planting holes had a significant
effect on plant height 3-5 weeks after planting, stem diameter, leaf area, wet
weight of the root crown and crown, dry weight of the crown and roots, wet weight
of the cob planted, total weight of the wet cob with holes in the planting, weight cob
wetness per plot and harvest index. The interaction of the combination of Urea, SP-
36 and KCl fertilization doses and the number of seeds perforated in planting has
a significant effect on the height of plants aged 3-5 weeks after planting, stem diameter,
leaf area, length and diameter of cobs without husks, fresh weight of cobs
planted, total wet cob weight per planting hole, wet cob weight per p | en_US |
