Pengelolaan Asuhan Keperawatan pada Pasien Gagal Ginjal dengan Terapi Slow Stroke Back Massage di Ruang Hemodialisa Rumah Sakit Prof. dr.Chairuddin Panusunan Lubis Universitas Sumatera Utara

Abstract

Chronic kidney disease is a condition of kidney damage that occurs over the years which results in the failure of both whole and part of the kidney function as a metabolic organ that affects the body’s metabolic processes so that it is very likely to cause other diseases such as cardiovascular disorders such as hypertension, anemia, diabetes mellitus, electrilyte disturbances and other metabolic disorder that affect that worsening quality of life. The worsening of quality of life is characterized by the discovery of symptoms that are commonly felt by patients, one of which is fatigue.fatigue is a condition where patients do not have adequate energy and tend to reduce tolerance in doing normal activities related to the disease. Slow stroke back massage therapy is an effective relaxation therapy in overcoming conditions of fatigue, pain, and sleep disturbances. The purpose of this senior practice is to provide comprehensive and professional nursing care to patients with chronic kidney disease with fatigue conditions. Nursing care was carried out on July 12-21, 2023 in the hemodialysis room of the Prof.dr.Chairuddin Panusunan Lubis USU hospital by intervening with slow stroke back massage therapy to 5 patients and providing comprehensive nursing care to 3 patients. There was a positive response and the patient’s condition improved with reduced compaints, decreased blood pressure, improved sleep patterns and decreased pain intensity. The conclusion obtained is that slow stroke back massage therapy is effective in overcoming fatigue and other complaints such as hypertension, sleep, and pain.
