Abstract

Pain associated with some other symptom or clinical sign of disease or injury Cancer pain is dominated by neuropathy, psychological social and spiritual that is felt by patients with terminal illness which wan reduce the quality of life and physical Therefore it is necessary to do pain management in cancer patients to improve their quality of life. There are two approaches to dealing with pam, namely non pharmacological therapy and non-pharmacological therapy. Non-pharmacological approaches include guide imagery techniques and classical music therapy The purpose of this research is to provide nursing care using guide imagery techniques and classical music therapy in reducing chronic pain intensity in breast cancer patients using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS). The location of senior practicum is carried cout in the inpatient room of Rumah Sakit Universitas Sumatera Utara. Guide imagery techniques and classical music therapy were given to 3 breast cancer patiens. On the first day the practitioner provides guide imagery techniques, on the second day the practitioner provides classical music therapy and on the third day the patient is given guide imagery techniques and classical music therapy Guide imagery therapy and classical music therapy are given to divert the patient's attention to the pam they are experiencing and provide a feeling of relaxation After being given guide imagery therapy and classical music therapy, the results obtained by the practitioner are a decrease in the pain intensity felt by the potent Suggestions for health workers that giving guide imagery and classical music therapy can be used as a non- pharmacological therapy for patients who experience breast cancer pain
