    Abstract
    This research aims to analyze the effect of investment, human capital, social inequality, and economic growth on employment opportunities on the island of Sumatra. This is an associative research type with a quantitative approach. The data employed is secondary data obtained from the Indonesian Central Statistics Agency (BPS), including investment data, human development index, Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), Gini index, and job opportunity levels for the period 2018 to 2022. The results of the research show that investment has a significant positive effect on employment opportunities on the island of Sumatra. Human capital has a significant positive effect on employment opportunities on the island of Sumatra. Social inequality also has a significant positive effect on employment opportunities on the island of Sumatra. Economic growth has a very strong and significant positive effect on employment opportunities on the island of Sumatra. Investment, human capital, social inequality and economic growth have a significant positive effect on employment opportunities on the island of Sumatra. About 86.9% of the variability in employment opportunities can be explained by investment, human capital, social inequality, and economic growth.
