    Abstract
This research discusses the history of the Madirsan flower village which turned into the Bangun Sari flower tourism area in Bangun Sari Village, Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency. The aim of this research is to explain in 1994-2015 the process of transitioning the Madirsan flower village into the Bangun Sari flower tourism area, which was initially only managed by local people who worked as farmers and flower traders. The development of Madirsan flower village continues to grow, seen from the increasing number of flower traders, and the plants sold by flower traders are increasingly diverse. This research uses historical methods, which begin with topic selection, heuristics (searching for and collecting historical sources that are related to the research topic), verification (the process of testing the validity of sources through internal and external criticism to obtain historical facts), interpretation (putting together and explaining the facts -interrelated historical facts), and historiography (the stage of writing history). The results of this research show that the transition of the Madirsan flower village into a tourist area brings various contributions to the surrounding community. The conclusion of this research is that the flower village which has turned into a tourist area influences various things in people's lives, especially flower traders. There are many positive impacts that can be felt by the community and tourists who visit, after the government participates in managing tourist areas
