Analisis Karakteristik Populasi M1 Tanaman Marigold (Tagetes Erecta L.) Berdasarkan Karakter Morfologi

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of giving colchicin concentration on changes in morphological characters in marigold plants. Research has been carried out on the Land of the Faculty of Agriculture and Plant Biotechnology Laboratory, University of North Sumatra (± 25 m asl) in May-October 2023 using descriptive statistical analysis methods with two samples, namely the Maharani F1 variety and the Maharani F1 variety with a colchicin treatment concentration of 250 ppm. The parameters observed are plant height, stem diameter, number of petioles, leaf type, leaf length, leaf width, terminal flower head stalk length, floret type, flower diameter, number of colors in flowers, flowering start time, stomata length and stomatal width. The results showed that marigold plants with a colchicin treatment concentration of 250 ppm differed markedly against all parameters except plant height, number of petioles, leaf width and length of terminal flower head stalks.
