The purpose of this research is to explore and identify morphological character of Red Beans 'Kidney Bean' in North Sumatra. This research was conducted in Toba Regency and Simalungun Regency starting from March to May 2023. Using a descriptive survey method guided by the descriptor of Phaseolus vulgaris (International Plant Genetic Resources Institute). With a purposive sampling technique obtained 19 samples of red bean plants in 8 sub-districts and 19 villages. 1 sample was taken from a different farmer in each village. The results of this study indicate that red bean cultivars have superior properties and have the potential to be developed. Red bean plants have a wide phenotypic diversity in the characters of leaflet length, dry weight of 100 seeds, plant height, hypocotyl length, and number of pods planted. Of the 19 samples, the furthest kinship was in TA1 and TB3, namely 32,493.en_US
