    Abstract
    Bukit Barisan Forest Park located at Bandar Baru Village Sibolangit District, is one of the forest area which has high diversity of plant species. one of them is the species of Arecaceae. This area has various topographical and ecological conditions to support the growth of Arecaceae. However it is not yet known, how many species and what morphological characteristics of Arecaceae which found at the Bukit Barisan Forest Park Area. This research aims to identify and to describe the morphology of the Arecaceae species found at the area.. This research was carried out from June to September 2023 using an exploration method which was by exploring the area that could represent the forest conditions. Base on the observation, there are 22 species of Arecaceae obtained and those are belong to 9 genera: 13 species has a creeping stature and 9 species has an upright stature. The most species of Arecaceae were obtained from the Calamus genus, contains of 7 species, while for the Elaeis, Korthalsia, Plectocomia, and Plectocomiopsis genera only found 1 type of araceaeca respectively. The Arecaceae found at the Bukit Barisan Forest Park area occupies a variety of topographic habitat conditions, such as on the edge of cliffs, along the river flows, the forest edges with exposure sunlight fully and the last is an area shaded by tree canopies. The physical and chemical factors are also different on each habitat.
