dc.description.abstract | This study aims to discover and generate types of linguistic landscapes, functions of
linguistic landscapes, psychological messages in linguistic landscapes, and to design a
linguistic landscape model in the tourism destination area through the study of
Anthropological Linguistics Landscape in Humbang Hasundutan Regency, Lake Toba
Region. The research method used an interactive qualitative model. The results of the
study found that: firstly, there are still tourism objects in the tourism destination area of
Humbang Hasundutan Regency that lack complete linguistic landscapes, resulting in a
lack of linguistic landscape information in those tourism objects. The development of
linguistic landscapes needs to be complemented starting from the linguistic landscape of
welcome to the tourism area, the linguistic landscape of directions to the tourism object
location, the linguistic landscape of welcome in the tourism object, folk discourse
linguistic landscape, and empirical or geographical description linguistic landscape.
Secondly, the development of clearer functions of landscapes as attractive, informative,
and implicational functions. Thirdly, the development of psychological messages
contained in eye-catching designs with a combination of ‘gorga’ elements and batak
cultural colors as their local wisdom, and fourthly, the design of a multi-language model
to attract both local and international tourists. The researchers suggest that the local and
central government, especially the Tourism Office of Humbang Hasundutan Regency,
cooperate with the community and tourism object owners to complement and improve
the linguistic landscape to make it more attractive, in order to increase tourism visits and
the well-being of the local community. | en_US |
