    Abstract
The synthesis of 2-ethylhexyl oleate from the esterification reaction of oleic acid and 2-ethylhexanol with the Amberlis-46 catalyst using microwave radiation has been carried out. The parameters of the molar ratio of oleic acid to 2-ethylhexanol, weight percent of catalyst to oleic acid, reaction time and microwave power were investigated using the response surface method and Box-Behnken experimental design. The optimum 2-ethylhexyl oleate (EHO) compound was obtained using the Box-Behnken design, with reaction conditions at a molar ratio of oleic acid to 2- ethyl hexanol of 1:7, catalyst weight based on 12% oleic acid weight, reaction time of 30 minutes, and wave power. micro 100P. Confirmation of the formation of the 2-ethylhexyl oleate compound by FT-IR, the appearance of the formation of the C=O group at a wave number of 1725.84 cm-1, states that the ester has been formed. The LC-MS spectrum strengthens the confirmation of the formation of the compound 2-ethylhexyl oleate by the presence of m/z of the compound with high peak intensity, which indicates that 2-ethylhexyl oleate was successfully formed.
