Calcium chloride dihydrate (CaCl2.2H2O) is a type of salt that is easily soluble in water, is solid at room temperature, odorless, white and non-toxic. Calcium chloride dihydrate is an industrial requirement which is used as raw material and supporting material in the pulp and paper, pesticide, pharmaceutical, food and other industries. The raw materials used in the pre-design of this factory are limestone and hydrochloric acid as well as supporting materials, namely calcium hydroxide and water. The process begins with the raw material preparation stage. At this stage the limestone is crushed using a crusher and smoothed using a ball mill to a size of 0.2 cm. The second stage is the reaction between limestone and hydrochloric acid, in the reactor the limestone acid and hydrochloric acid are reacted at a temperature of 60 oC and a pressure of 1 atm to produce calcium chloride and magnesium chloride. The third stage is the neutralization process, namely the process of neutralizing magnesium chloride and remaining hydrochloric acid from the acid reactor using a calcium hydroxide solution so that more calcium chloride is obtained. The neutralization process was carried out at a temperature of 60 oC and a pressure of 1 atm. The fourth stage is the product purification and crystallization stage, where the product from the neutralizing reactor in the form of liquid slurry is separated between the solids and the filtrate using a filter press. The filtrate is then evaporated on an evaporator to reduce the water content at a temperature of 110 oC and a pressure of 1 atm. The thick filtrate is crystallized in a crytallizer until a crystalline calcium chloride dihydrate product is obtained. The crystal product is then dried in a xi rotary dryer using hot air at a temperature of 100 oC and then equalized in size using a grinder. The final stage is product handling, where the ground product is stored in a silo and then packaged in the product storage warehouse. Pre-design of a factory for the manufacture of calcium chloride dihydrate from limestone and hydrochloric acid through a neutralization process with a capacity of 8000 tons/year It is planned to operate for 330 days a year. The location for the factory is planned to be in Kampar Regency, Riau, with a required land area of 11,800 m2. The workforce required to operate the calcium chloride dihydrate factory is 156 people. The planned business entity form is a Limited Liability Company (PT) and the organizational form is a line and staff system organization. The results of the economic analysis of the pre-design plant for the production of calcium chloride dihydrate from limestone and hydrochloric acid are as follows: 1. Total Capital Investment (CI) : Rp200.967.866.900,00 2. Total Cost : Rp111.491.497.352,00 3. Total Sales : Rp199.999.998.000,00 4. Net Profit : Rp58.913.152.931,00 5. Profit Margin (PM) : 42,04% 6. Break Even Point (BEP) : 40,04% 7. Return On Investment (ROI) : 29,31% 8. Pay Out Time (POT) : 3,41 tahun 9. Return On Network (RON) : 48,86% 10. Internal Rate Of Return (IRR) : 29,53%en_US
