Conflict is an important element in developing the plot of a fictional text. Inner conflict is a conflict that occurs in the heart and mind, in the soul of a story character. Literary psychology is the study of literary works which views literary works as psychological activities. The novel Kiara by Dinni Adhiawaty is very interesting to examine in the form of inner conflict because Kiara as the main character has to marry at a young age with the man her father chose. Before he died, Kiara's father left a will to this man to look after Kiara and Kiara's mother. This thesis aims to determine the forms of inner conflict of the main character, Kiara. To achieve the objectives of this thesis research, the author analyzes the novel Kiara by Dinni Adhiawaty using the theory of forms of inner conflict according to Kurt Lewin in the study of literary psychology. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive qualitative research methods by connecting the Kiara novel with forms of inner conflict in the main character Kiara, such as approaching-approaching conflict, namely conflict that arises when there are two motives, all of which are positive, so you are hesitant to choose one of them, away-from conflict. moving away, namely conflict that arises when two forces push in opposite directions, and approaching-away conflict, namely conflict that arises when two forces push and hinder one goal.
