Fakta Cerita, Tema, dan Sarana Sastra dalam Novel Lebih Senyap dari Bisikan Karya Andina Dwifatma: Struktur Novel Model Robert Stanton

Abstract

This research aims to describe (1) story facts, (2) themes, (3) literary devices in the novel Lebih Senyap dari Bisikan by Andina Dwifatma. This research includes library research, while the method used is qualitative descriptive analysis. The data sources used are words, sentences, discourse in the novel More Senyap Than Bisikan by Andina Dwifatma. The approach used is Robert Stanton's structural approach, namely the fact that the story consists of three elements, namely plot, setting and character. The results of this research are as follows, (1) In terms of facts, the story consists of the plot, characters and setting featured in a novel. The plot used in the novel Silent Than a Whisper is a forward plot. The characters in the novel are obsessive, worried and over thinker, hardworking, impulsive, prestigious, professional, selfish and like to make their own decisions, shameless, like to help. The settings in the story are still in the same city, the settings used are: Amara and Baron's house, park, Tanah Abang station, Sudirman station, hospital, Saliman house, Amara's rented house, Macan's rented house, Mami's house. The time settings used are: the last three years, one year later, the middle of the second year, the third year, morning, afternoon, afternoon and evening. The social setting in the novel is: beliefs, ways of thinking, living habits, traditions. (2) The theme in the novel Silent Than a Whisper, namely 'a parent's prayer for the happiness of their child' (3) Literary devices consist of title, point of view, style and tone, symbolism and irony. The title in this novel is considered relevant to the content of the story. The point of view used in the novel is the first person point of view of the main actor. The styles used by the author in the novel are: rhetorical and hyperbole, while the tone in this novel is an ironic tone. The symbolism in the novel Silent Than a Whisper is Amara's dream. The irony that exists is verbal irony.
