dc.description.abstract | The preliminary plant design of terephtalic acid with amoco process using formic acid solvent with a production capacity of 195.000 tons/year and operates 334 days a year. The main process in the pre-design of this factory consists of four stages, namely the oxidation stage, product separation and drying stages, and recovery solvent stage. In the oxidation reaction stage, a Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor used. In the reactor, the reaction takes place for 20 minutes at a temperature of 215oC and a pressure of 15 atm. The amount of phenol required to achieve annual production capacity is 15.690,600 kg/hour.
The number of workers needed to run the factory is 153 people with the planned construction location being in the Tuban Industrial Area (KIT), Karangdowo, Socorejo, Kec. Jenu, Tuban Regency, East Java with a factory area of 21,330 m2. 9.510,840 kg/hour of water needed for this plant are supplied from the clean water processing unit of the Area Industry of Tuban.
The results of the economic analysis of this thesis are as follows:

Based on the results of economic analysis, it can be concluded that the terephtalic acid from paraxylene manufacturing plant process is feasible to be established. | en_US |
