Pengaruh Penghargaan Finansial, Orang Tua, Lingkungan Kerja dan Personalitas Terhadap Minat Berkarir Menjadi Akuntan Publik pada Mahasiswa Akuntansi Universitas Sumatera Utara
Abstract
This study aims to obtain empirical evidence of the effect of financial rewards, parents, work environment, and personality on career intention to become a public accountant. The sample determination method used purposive sampling, the sample in this study were accounting majors at USU (University of North Sumatra) from 2018 to 2020 and a total sample of 88 students was obtained. Data collection was used with a questionnaire method in the form of a questionnaire. The data analysis technique uses the classical assumption test and multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS and Microsoft Excel software. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that each independent variable, namely financial rewards, parents, work environment, and personality, had an influence on the interest in becoming a public accountant. Variation of independent variables in research can explain the factors that influence career interest in becoming a public accountant by 83.1%. The results of this study are expected to be a consideration for students in choosing a career as a public accountant in the future.
