dc.description.abstractThis study focuses on teachers’ information literacy in supporting their proffesionalsm. The issue raised is the ability of teachers’ information literacy to prepare their students to become literate individuals regarding information. Therefore, the purpose of this studi is to describe teachers’ information literacy abilities and their implementation in the environment of MAN 1 Medan School. This study uses qualitative descriptive research. Five out of 121 teachers were selected as the sample. The theory used is the information literacy standard issued bye the Association of Collage and Research Libraries (ACRL), namely Information Literacy Standards for Teacher Education. The research result indicated that teachers better understand the basic concepts of information literacy. Teachers’ information literacy abilities are closely related to their educational backgrounds and information needs in each field of study, thus requiring futher development to achieve the school’s goal of building a literate generation.en_US
