Evaluasi Sarana dan Prasarana pada Perpustakaan Politeknik Teknologi Kimia Industri Medan

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the evaluation of facilities and infrastructure at the Medan Industrial Chemical Technology Polytechnic Library. This research was conducted at the Library of Medan Industrial Chemical Technology Polytechnic located at Jalan Medan Tenggara No. VII, Southeast Medan, Medan Denai District, North Sumatra. This was descriptive research using a qualitative approach. The data collection techniques included observations, interviews, literature study, and documentation. The informants in this research were three librarians who managed the library. The data analysis techniques comprised data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing which aimed to analyze relevant and meaningful data. The research findings were based on the Regulation of the Head of the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia Number 13 of 2017 concerning National Library Standards for Higher Education, which showed that the facilities and infrastructure at the Medan Industrial Chemical Technology Polytechnic Library still did not meet the criteria of the National Library Standards. Among them were the needs to increase and provide adequate library building area, accurate division of space composition, lighting, humidity, stable temperature, and complete equipment and supplies that were safe, comfortable, and attractive for every user.
