This thesis is entitled "The Legend of Batu Hundul-Hundulan Siahaan and Siregar Sociology of Literature Study". The legend of Batu Hundul-Hundulan specifically describes the story of the hundul-hundulan stone given or pauseang to King Ompu Ni Ambatua Siregar who married the daughter of King Ompu Sidodong Siahaan. The hundul-hundulan stone is a storage place for King Sidodong's treasure which has been given to Ambatua Siregar because, he has successfully completed all the challenges given and the Hundul-hundulan stone, is proof that there is a relationship between the Siahaan clan and the Siregar clan. The story is a story owned by the Toba Batak community in Huta Nagodang Village, Muara District, North Tapanuli Regency. The research target is to find intrinsic elements and literary sociology values in the legend of Batu Hundul-hundulan. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method using field techniques. This research is analyzed by utilizing structural theory along with literary sociology. The structural theory includes the intrinsic elements of the hundul-hundulan stone story including: theme, plot, setting, characterization, point of view, and moral message. The sociological values of literature contained in this story include: Conflict, responsibility, helping, cooperation, loyalty, belonging, caring and trust.
