Pemanfaatan Katalog Online pada Perpustakaan Universitas Katolik Santo Thomas Medan

Abstract

This study was conducted at the Library of Saint Thomas Catholic University Medan. This final paper aims to determine how users at the library of Saint Thomas Catholic University Medan use online catalogues. Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) is a process of library materials to create library catalogue products with machine readable bibliographic records. The methods used in the study were literature s tudy, observation, interview, and documentation. The results of the study stated that there were three us es of the Online Public Access Catalog in searching for information in the library of Saint Thomas Catholic University Medan. This includes information searches that can be done quickly and efficiently, searches that can be done based on title or subject, and bibliographic records contained in unlimited catalogue entries. The searching process facilitat es the retrieval of library materials needed in the library collection.
