    Abstract
    One of the main diseases that attacks potatoes is leaf blight or commonly called late blight, which is caused by the pathogen Phytopthora infestans; Order Pythiales; Family Pythiaceae. Technical cultural control is an alternative that can be applied, namely by using plastic shelters (rain shelters) as plant protectors, especially during the rainy season, to avoid splashing rainwater which can carry disease. The aim of this research was to determine the interval level and concentration of contact fungicide application containing the active ingredient Mancozeb and the effect of shade/plastic houses on P.infestans which causes potato leaf blight. This research was conducted on land in Saribu Dolok Village, Silimakuta District, Kab. Simalungun in April 2022 to October 2022. Field research was arranged in a Randomized Block Factorial Design with Factor 1, namely providing shade in plastic houses and not providing shade in plastic houses. Factor 2, namely the concentration of contact fungicide containing the active ingredient mancozeb with treatment without fungicide, 1 g/L , 2 g/L and 3 g/L. Factor 3 is the fungicide application interval every 4 days, 8 days and 12 days. The results of the research showed that the treatment of the effect of shading the plastic house and administering the concentration of contact fungicide containing the active ingredient mancozeb as well as the fungicide application interval did not have a significant effect on all observed parameters on potato plants.
