dc.description.abstract | This study aimed to investigate the availability of facilities and infrastructure at the Library and Archives Office of Central Aceh Regency. The analysis was based on the Regulation of the Head of the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia Number 8 of 2017. This descriptive study employed the qualitative approach. Three informants participated in the data collection process. One of the informants has an associate degree with a functional task in the library, and two librarians provided additional information about facilities needed during the study. The primary and secondary data for this study were collected through observation, interview, and documentation. The collected data went through some processes, i.e. data reduction, data display, data verification, and conclusion drawing. The results were analyzed based on four indicators of facilities and infrastructures. However, there were some issues related to (1) location, (2) building, (3) library space, and (3) service and work. The facilities that do not comply with national library standards are magazine racks, audio-visual racks, newspaper racks, reading tables, and reading equipment for the blind. Meanwhile, the facilities that already comply with the national library standards are bookshelves, journal racks, reference bookshelves, visitor lockers, work chairs, circulation desks, notice boards, computers, internet, and air conditioning. Then, the library infrastructure that does not comply with national library standards includes the building area, collection area, and staff area. Despite the weaknesses, the library is located in the center of Central Aceh city, next to the campus of IAIN Aceh Tengah and the Ruhama Grand Mosque, so the library is fully accessible to its visitors. | en_US |
