Analisis Kelayakan Usahatani Melon Golden (Cucumis melo L) (Kasus: Desa Air Hitam, Kecamatan Gebang, Kabupaten Langkat, Provinsi Sumatera Utara)

Abstract

This research was supervised by Mr Dr Ir. Sinar Indra Kesuma M.Si as chairman of the supervisory commission and Mr. Ir. Yusak Maryunianta M.P as member of the supervisory commission. Golden Melon is a type of horticultural plant that has the potential to increase economic growth. Golden Melon production varies in each region. The aim of this research is to analyze the production costs, revenues and income of Golden Melon farming in the research area and to analyze the feasibility of Golden Melon farming in the research area. The research area was determined purposively. The number of respondents was obtained from a census sampling formula with 20 farmers. Data analysis methods are descriptive methods, production cost formulas, revenue formulas, income formulas and feasibility analysis. The research results show that the average production cost is IDR 19.931.752, the average revenue is IDR 51,000,000 and the average income is IDR 31.068.248, so the farming of golden melon farmers in the research area is profitable, the R/C value is 2.5>1, and B/C Ratio 1.5>1. Selling price is higher than BEP Price, Production is higher than BEP Production and Revenue is greater than BEP Revenue. Golden melon farming in the research area is worth pursuing.
