Ikon, Indeks dan Simbol pada Lirik Lagu Melayu Negeri Jambi, Orang Kayo Hitam dan Putri Muaro Jambi: Kajian

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the semiotic meaning in the form of icons, indexes and symbols from the song texts of Negeri Jambi, Orang Kayo Hitam, and Putri Muaro Jambi. The method used in this research is a descriptive method using data collection techniques from YouTube, which the researcher then reads, writes and analyzes using Semiotic theory, namely. Meaning of Icons, Indexes and Symbols. The results of the research reveal the meaning of icons, indexes and symbols in the three songs. The words in the songs Negeri Jambi, Orang Kayo Hitam, and Putri Muaro Jambi have semiotic meanings, including Lilirk Negeri Jambi 2 meanings of icons, 13 indexes, and 1 meaning of symbolic signs. The lyrics of the song Orang Kayo Hitam have sign meanings including 1 icon meaning, 9 index sign meanings, and 1 symbol meaning in the lyrics. The lyrics of the song Putri Muaro Jambi have 2 meanings of icon signs, 4 meanings of index signs and 1 meaning of symbol signs in the song lyrics. It is hoped that the research results can encourage the development of linguistic disciplines, especially the semantics of lexical and grammatical meaning. Apart from that, this research also provides information that is useful for all, especially students, as a learning environment.
