Pelabuhan Penyeberangan Tanjung Sarang Elang di Kecamatan Panai Hulu Kabupaten Labuhan Batu 1970-2010

Abstract

This study discusses the background of the establishment of the Tanjung Sarang Elang ferry port, the development and contribution of the ferry port in the period 1970-2010. The purpose of this study was to reveal the background of the establishment of a port in the area of Tanjung Sarang Elang. The development of the local community which includes as a liaison between regions and generate the economy of the community around the port. The method used in this study is the historical method, namely heuristics, verification of criticism, interpretation, and historical historiography. In data collection, this study uses the method of literature studies and field studies. Field studies conducted by the authors in the form of observation to the location and conduct interviews with speakers at the Port of Tanjung Sarang Elang crossing, one of the researchers is Mr. Ramli. The results showed that the Tanjung Sarang Elang ferry port in Panai Hulu District, Labuhan Batu Regency in 1970 was the year of the establishment of Tanjung Sarang Elang port which was originally built jointly by the community and the government for the sake of common interests. Then in 2010 underwent a renovation where before the renovation of the physical condition of the building was made of wood and then renovated in the form of concrete construction. Then in 2009 the ferry port is managed by Koperasi Bersatu Kita Jaya. Obstacles faced by the community is not complete public facilities and supporters in the port.
