dc.description.abstract | The growth of red spinach microgreens (Amaranthus tricolor L.) plays a crucial role in the context of providing a healthy food resource. This research aims to determine the optimal combination of AB Mix nutrient and light spectrum for the growth of red spinach microgreens (Amaranthus tricolor L.). The study was conducted from September to December 2022 at the Tissue Culture Laboratory, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara. The research employed a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two treatment factors: combinations in AB Mix dosage (0ml/L, 3ml/L, 5ml/L, 10ml/L, 15 ml/L) and light spectrum (Purple, Blue, Green, Red). The observed parameter variables were plant height, root length, fresh weight, dry weight, anthocyanin, and fiber contents, with the observations conducted for 14 days after sowing (DAS). The results indicated the combination of AB Mix and light spectrum treatments significantly affected plant height, root length, dry weight, anthocyanin content, and the fiber content but did not significantly affect fresh weight. The combination of AB Mix 15 ml dosage and the red light spectrum (A4S4) exhibited the best results for plant height, root length, anthocyanin content, and fiber content, while the combination of AB Mix 15 ml/L and blue light spectrum (A4S2) showed the best results for dry weight in red spinach microgreens | en_US |
