    Abstract
Gender equality is a condition where women and men are placed in the same position and opportunity to play a role. Gender equality in student organizations tends to use a patriarchal system where these conditions exclude the role of women, and they are considered unable to carry out leadership roles. The focus of this research is the phenomenon of gender equality in occupying strategic positions in the PMKRI Medan Santo Bonaventura Branch student organization for the 2021-2023 period. Researchers conducted this research because they assessed that there was gender equality in the PMKRI Medan Santo Bonaventura Branch organization for the 2021-2023 period based on Strategic Position data. This research aims to find out why the PMKRI Medan Santo Bonaventura Branch organization provides as much space as possible for women to access strategic positions and how women as parties who have strategic positions interpret these positions. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach, and the technique for determining informants is purposive sampling technique. The informants in this research are administrators who occupy strategic positions, women who occupy strategic positions, and active members in the Medan Santo Bonaventura branch of PMKRI for the 2021-2023 period. The concept used in this research is the concept of gender equality. The results of this research show that there are opportunities for women to occupy strategic positions through the fifth point in cadre identity, namely 'universality' and is contained in the ARTC PMKRI Medan branch in chapter IV Concerning the Rights and Obligations of Members in article 15 in point d, namely the right to be elected, the existence of a position the same thing between men and women through the third point in the three common threads of the association, namely 'Fraternity', the role of women, namely initiating change and contributing thought patterns. There is a relationship between structure and agency. Women's meaning of their strategic position is to feel proud and respected.
