Pengaruh Jarak Tanam terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Produksi Dua Varietas Kacang Tanah (Arachis hypogaea L.)
Effect of Planting Distance on Growth and Production of Two Varieties of Peanuts (Arachis hypogaea L.)
Abstract
Peanuts (Arachis hypogaea L.) are the most important agricultural commodity after soybeans which have a strategic role in national food as a source of protein and vegetable oil. This research was to determine the effect of planting distance on the growth and production of two varieties of peanuts (Arachis hypogaea L.). This research was conducted on Jalan Bunga Rampai Gang Anggrek, Simalingkar B, Medan Tuntungan District, Medan City, North Sumatra at an altitude of ± 25 meters above sea level (asl), starting from June to September 2023. This research used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) Factorial with two treatments, namely with plant spacing: 40 cm x 15 cm, 40 cm x 20 cm, 40 cm x 25 cm and 40 x 30 cm and varieties: Gajah and Takar 2. Based on research that has been carried out, shows that The plant spacing treatment of 40 cm x 25 cm gave the highest results in the parameters of plant height, number of gynophores, number of pods formed, number of filled pods, wet crown weight, pods wet weight, sample seed weight and 100 seed weight but had no significant effect on all observed parameters. The Takar 2 variety gave the highest yield and had a significant effect on the parameters of the number of pods formed, the number of filled pods, the wet weight of the crown, the weight of the seeds sampled and the weight of 100 seeds. The Gajah variety has a significant effect on the parameters of plant height, number of branches and flowering time. The interaction between peanut variety and planting distance had no significant effect on all parameters.
