    Abstract
Plant extracts have potential as bioherbicides. Sibunbun plant is a local plant typical of the Tapanuli region that can have potential as a vegetable herbicide because it has secondary metabolite compounds. This study aims to determine the effect of herbicide application of "Sibunbun" plant extract on the growth of Babandotan weeds (Ageratum conyzoides L.) and Israeli grass (Asystasia gangetica). This research was conducted in the Greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra with an altitude of ± 25 meters above sea level (above sea level) from July to October 2023. This study used a non-factorial Randomized Group Design (RAK) with four levels of treatment on two different types of weeds, namely with the concentration of plant extract "Sibunbun": 0, 100, 200, and 400 ml/L water. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance, the significant variance was continued by using Duncan's Multiple Range Test at the 5% level. The results showed that the treatment of "Sibunbun" plant extract has an effect on the mortality of Babandotan weed (Ageratum conyzoides L.) at a concentration of 200 ml/L of water and Israeli Grass Weed (Asystasia gangetica) with a concentration of 100 ml/L of water, but the application of Sibunbun extract has no effect on the dry weight of the weed.
