With the increase in people's living standards and changes in people's eating
patterns, it has become more practical to encourage the establishment of margarine
factories from crude palm oil as main source. The selection of this raw material was based
on considerations of crude palm oil which has a high fat content, nutritional value, and
economic value which is more profitable, because the source of the raw material is in
Indonesia.
This factory is planned to produce with a capacity of 19,000 tons/year with 300
working days a year. The factory location is planned in the East Rumbai District,
Pekanbaru City, Riau Province, with an area of 15,000 m2, the workforce required is 165
people in the form of a Badan Usaha Terbatas (PT) led by a Director with a line system
organizational structure.
The result of the economic analysis on the preliminary plant design of margarine
from crude palm oil with hydrogenation process as follows:
- Fixed Capital Investment (FCI) : Rp.241.705.182.325
- Total Cost : Rp.361.028.088.120
- Total Sales : Rp.468.812.850.000
- Net Profit : Rp.71.731.866.650
- Profit Margin (PM) : 21,84%
- Break Even Point (BEP) : 46,63%
- Return on Investment (ROI) : 29,67%
- Pay Out Time (POT) : 3,36 year
- Internal Rate of Return (IRR) : 34,58%
From the results of this economic analysis, it can be conclude that the margarine
factory made of crude palm oil is feasible to establish.
