Testing The Quality of Sheep Manure Compost Fertilizer with The Addition of Various Bioactivators
Abstract
This study aims to determine the quality of compost fertilizer from sheep manure with the addition of various bioactivators consisting of different microorganisms, and whether it meets the SNI standard. The research was conducted at the Greenhouse and Field Laboratory, as well as the Research and Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Unversitas Sumatera Utara in February-March 2023. The method used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications. The treatments include P0 = 1.5 kg Sheep Manure + 0.5 kg Coffee Fruit Peel (Control), P1 = 1.5 kg Sheep Manure + 0.5 kg Coffee Fruit Peel + 20 g EM-4 Agriculture, P2 = 1.5 kg Sheep Manure + 0.5 kg Coffee Fruit Peel + 20 g Orgadec, and P3 = 1.5 kg Sheep Manure + 0.5 kg Coffee Fruit Peel + 20 g MOL Tapai. The research parameters include the nutrient content of N-Total, P2O5, K2O, Temperature, pH, Organic-C, and C/N ratio.
The research results show that the addition of various bioactivators can increase the value of the macro nutrient content of the compost. However, the Organic-C content does not meet the Indonesian compost quality standard SNI 19-7030-2004. In addition, this research shows a significant effect on the Organic-C content of sheep manure compost, while the content of N-Total, P2O5, K2O, temperature, pH, and C/N ratio do not show significant differences.
