Studi Eksperimental Pengaruh Sekat pada Tutup Dapur Crucible Berbahan Bakar LPG terhadap Temperatur Ruang Bakar
Experimental Study of The Influence of Melting Furnace Barrier Crucibles LPG Fuel on The Combustion Company Temperature
Abstract
The foundry industry is very much needed in the development of products, both machinery and household products. A metal smelting kitchen is an important tool in producing a product. Several melting pots have been developed by researchers previously. In this research, a 5 kg capacity non-ferrous metal crucible melting kitchen was designed to be fueled by LPG gas with the addition of a partition on the lid. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of adding insulation to the lid on the heat required to melt nonferrous metal and the fuel consumption used. The research method is manufacturing design and testing carried out by melting 1 kg of aluminum in a smelting kitchen without and using insulation using LPG fuel and carried out in the USU Mechanical Engineering Foundry laboratory. The results of the research are that the heat absorbed in the smelting furnace using a closing screen is 5,740.075 kJ with a heat loss rate of 1.615.13 kJ/hour and the amount of fuel used is 0,135 kg with a smelting time of 40 minutes, and for the smelting furnace that does not use The heat absorbed is 7,275.07 kJ with a heat loss rate of 3.280.678 kJ/hour and the amount of fuel used is 0,68 kg with a melting time of 52 minutes.
