dc.description.abstract | Sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) is an important commodity as the main raw material for making sugar. This plant is needed so that the need continues to increase along with the increase in population. However, the increase in sugar consumption has not been matched by domestic sugar production. Low sugar production can be increased by preparing quality seedlings with a budchip system and improving sugarcane cultivation techniques such as the use of organic materials compost bagasse (blotong) and the use of appropriate varieties aimed at increasing the growth of sugarcane plants. This research was conducted in May 2023 Sugarcane and Tobacco Development Research, Jalan Pasar Kecil, Medan Krio, Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra with an altitude of ± 30 meters above sea level. This research used Factorial Randomized Group Design (RAK) consisting of 2 factors with 3 replications. The first factor is bagasse compost (blotong) with 4 composition comparison: (B0) Without blotong (100% soil), (B1) Soil: Blotong = 70% : 30%, (B2) Soil: Blotong = 50%: 50%, (B3) Soil: Blotong = 30%: 70 %. The second factor is three varieties of sugarcane seedlings: (V1) BZ 134, (V2) PSJT 941, (V3) PS 094. The results showed that the treatment of bagasse compost (blotong) had a significant effect on the parameters of seedling diameter at the age of 14 MST. The treatment of varieties had a significant effect on the parameters of seedling length, number of leaves, seedling diameter, number of tillers and wet weight of stalks at the age of 2-14 MST. The interaction of bagasse compost (blotong) and varieties had no significant effect on all parameters at the age of 2-14 MST. | en_US |
