During the growth and development of bulbs in shallots, quite a lot of water is needed. However, shallot plants are not resistant to waterlogged places. The use of mulch is necessary in maintaining water content in the soil in shallot planting. Shallot production can be increased by improving plant nutrient sources. This study aims to determine the growth and production of shallots against the type of mulch and cow manure application with different doses. This research was conducted in Bangun Sari Village, Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra with an altitude of ± 26 meters above sea level from September to November 2023. This research used Factorial Randomized Group Design (RAK) consisting of 2 factors with 3 replications. First factor of mulch type: no mulch, rice husk charcoal, black and silver plastic mulch. The second factor is manure with 4 levels of dosage (0; 15; 30; 45 tons/ha). The results showed that the type of rice husk charcoal mulch or black and silver plastic mulch was the best. The application of cow manure and the interaction of mulch type and cow manure had no significant effect on all observed variables.
