    Abstract
Palm oil is a plantation commodity with significant economic value. The growth of palm oil seedlings depends on good planting media. Peat soil is a potential soil type that can be used as a planting medium for palm oil seedlings, but it has acidic pH, high C/N ratio, and low nutrient content. Efforts to add nutrients to peat soil can be done by adding solid decanter. This study aims to determine the growth response of various oil palm seedling varieties (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) in peat soil and solid decanter media in the pre-nursery stage. The research was conducted in Tampan Village, Payung Sekaki District, Pekanbaru City, Riau, at an altitude of approximately 34 meters above sea level (masl) and took place from July to October 2023. The study utilized a Factorial Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with two treatment factors and three replications. The first factor was the planting media: peat soil (1000g), peat soil:solid decanter mixture (400g:600g), peat soil:solid decanter mixture (500g:500g), peat soil:solid decanter mixture (600g:400g). The second factor was the varieties: DxP Langkat Variety, DxP Simalungun Variety, Dy x P Sungai Pancur 1 Variety (DUMPY). The research findings revealed that the planting media significantly influenced the plant height at 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 WAP, stem diameter at 4, 5, 11, and 12 WAP, number of leaves at 5, 11, and 12 WAP, root wet weight and stem dry weight, the varieties significantly influenced stem diameter at 4, 5, 11, and 12 weeks after planting (WAP).
