Perancangan dan Pembuatan Tuas Rem Sepeda Motor Menggunakan Metode Sand- Mold Casting
Design and Manufacture of Motorcycle Brake Levers Using The Sand-Mow Casting Method
Abstract
The research was carried out to obtain stress results that are close to the
results of designing the maximum load on the brake lever and making the material into
a product from the brake lever using the sand mold casting method in metal casting.
with the aim of knowing the results of tensile tests, impact tests and brinel tests that
have been designed and made from brake levers. The materials used are aluminum
alloy and used pistons with variations in the addition of 5%, 10%, 15% silicon. In the
design, the maximum load value is 80 N for the brake handle load, while the pressure
load is 579.218 N with a brake handle cross-sectional area of 12.33 num resulting in
a stress value of 46.976 MPa. The results of the test specimen, the maximum stress
value on Al-Si with a 15% variation was 151.72 MPa and the load was 15.391 N. So
through this research the use of the 15% Al-St variation is sufficient to be used as a
brake lever product.
