    Abstract
The preliminary plant design of Glucose Syrup manufacturing plant using Hydrolysis Reactor has a production capacity of 5,000 tons/year and operates for 300 days a year. The main process in this factory design consists of 3 stages, namely the hydrolysis stage, neutralization stage and dye separation stage. The reaction is a hydrolysis reaction which takes place in a hydrolysis reactor with a temperature of 135°C with a residence time of 10 minutes and a neutralization reaction which takes place in a neutralization reactor with a temperature of 32°C with a residence time of 55 minutes. The cassava raw material needed to meet production capacity is 7,543,753 tons/year. The purpose of this preliminary plant design of Glucose Syrup manufacturing plant is to serve as a reference for establishing a glucose syrup manufacturing factory in Indonesia to meet the need for glucose syrup in Indonesia which is still dependent on imports from other countries and to optimize the availability of cassava which is very abundant in Indonesia and to determine the feasibility pre-factory design process from an economic perspective. The factory for making glucose syrup from cassava will be established in Cihaurkuning, Malangbong District, Garut Regency, West Java Province with a required land area of 11,568 m2. This factory for making glucose syrup from cassava uses a line and staff organizational form with a business entity in the form of a Perseroan Terbatas(PT). The number of employees required to operate the factory is 171 people. The results of the preliminary plant design economic analysis of the factory for making glucose syrup from cassava are as follows: - Total Capital Investment = Rp. 702.386.583.992,16 - Total Production Cost = Rp. 519.935.968.998,31 - Sales Results = Rp. 584.347.869.424,05 - Net Profit = Rp. 44.917.888.646,53 - Profit Margin (PM) = 28% - Break Even Point (BEP) = 23,6% - Return On Investment (ROI) = 19,4% - Pay Out Time (POT) = 5,2 years - Return On Network (RON) = 32,26% - Internal Rate of Return (IRR) = 24,01% Based on the results of the economic analysis, it can be concluded that the factory for making glucose syrup from cassava is feasible to establish.
