Design of Pulau Pandang Resort, Batu Bara Regency as a Center for Marine Tourism (Sustainable Architecture)
Abstract
Pulau Pandang is a small island in the Malacca Strait, north of Tanjung Tiram District, Batu Bara Regency. This island is called the Pearl Island of Batu Bara Regency tourism because of its exotic beauty with charming sea
accompanied by the appearance of coral reefs on the seabed, and the beauty of
rocky beaches. Location Pandang Island is located in Bongak Village, Tanjung Tiram District, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra Province with an area of 15 ha. Pandang Island is one of the potential areas in the development of sustainable tourism in Batu Bara Regency. The government has made an appeal regarding the potentials of Pulau Pandang and the tourism concept that needs to be developed.
The resort design in the Pulau Pandang area is expected to be a guideline for designing eco-friendly and sustainable small island tourism areas. Taking into account natural site conditions and environmentally friendly applications as well as analyzing environmentally friendly toilet wastewater management in tourism areas as well as the concept of processing waste into products that have a sale value. The concept of eco-friendly toilets is to maximize the cycle of reuse of
water, rainwater and waste water for reuse according to the needs of water use in
the sanitation system.
