dc.description.abstractThe aim of the research was to test the success of the percentage of crossing the Ciherang and Lombu cultivar rice, as well as to obtain the diversity of characters of the first F1 derivatives resulting from crossing the Ciherang and Lombu cultivars, as well as observing the characteristics of the seeds resulting from crossing the Ciherang rice variety and the Lombu cultivar.The research began from May to August 2023 in Kisaran, East Kisaran District, Asahan Regency, with an altitude of ± 14 meters above sea level. The cross used is a reciprocal cross, using the sow technique. The parents used were the Ciherang variety of rice as the male and female parents, and also upland red rice of the Lombu cultivar as the male and female parents. The researchers carried out a reciprocal cross where the Ciherang variety of rice became the male parent (♂) and the Lombu cultivar of red rice became the gogo the female parent (♀), and vice versa, the Lombu cultivar becomes the male parent and the Ciherang becomes the female parent. The number of parent plants planted was 40 plants of the Ciherang variety with 20 crosses and 40 plants of the Lombu cultivar also with 20 crosses. All plants were crossed and used as samples. The research results showed that the success percentage of crossing Ciherang rice with the Lombu cultivar was 100%.en_US
