    Abstract
Sweet potatoes are one of the main foods of the Indonesian people which have an important role in the national economy, including as a food ingredient for the future, industrial raw materials and animal feed ingredients. This research aims to analyze the morphological and agronomic characters of sweet potato genotypes from the highlands of South Tapanuli Regency in the lowlands of Medan City. This research was carried out on Jalan Pasar 1 Tanjung Sari, Medan Selayang District, Medan City, North Sumatra with an altitude of ± 25 meters above sea level (masl). This research was carried out in May 2023 until completion. This research used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 4 genotype treatments, namely the Sweet Potato Genotype (G) which consisted of; G1: Genotype 1, G2: Genotype 2, G3: Genotype 3, G4: Genotype 4. Data were analyzed for variance, the significant variance was continued using Duncan's Multiple Distance Test with a level of 5%. The results showed that the G4 treatment had a significant effect on the number of tubers, tuber length and tuber weight per sample, namely 1.97 per sample, 12.42 cm and 272.05 g. The G2 treatment had the thickest cortex thickness when compared to the other genotypes, namely 3.03 (thin).
