Currently, the development of Optical Fiber Communication Systems (OFCS) continues to advance from year to year. One rapidly evolving technology in the field of optical fiber commonication systems is Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology. This research aims to analyze the Four Wave Mixing (FWM) phenomenon using the Hybrid Optical Amplifier (HOA), Fiber Raman Amplifier (FRA), and Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA) in optical fibers,
The testing is conducted using Optisystem 7.0 software, analyzing the Q factor and Bit Error Rate (BER) of each optical amplifier at bitrates of 10 Gbps, 40 Gbps, and 100 Gbps, and cable lengths of 60 km, 100 km, 140 km. and 180 km. The research results indicate that there is a configuration of the HOA EDFA optical amplifier that provides the best performance compared to other optical amplifiers, with a maximum factor value of 8.65699 and a BER of 2.20 x 10-18 at a cable length of 60 km wich can increase the performance quality of the system.
