dc.description.abstract | Sweet potato is one of the 4th carbohydrate after rice, corn and cassava. Sweet potato is also one of the important crop commodities that continues to be developed by the goverment in an effort to realize food diversification. The aim of the research was to determinate the growth and production response of three local varieties of sweet potato (Ipomoea batats L.) to the aplication of paclobutrazol. The research was conducted in Marihat Bayu village, Bah Joga Village, Jawa Maraja Bah Jambi Sub-District, Simalungun district with an altitude + 498 above sea surface began from Mei to August 2023. The randomized block design was used with 2 factors. The first factor was varieties with three kind V1 (Purple Sweet potato);V2 (Yellow Sweet Potato); V3 (White Sweet Potato) and the second factoris the aplication of paclobutrazol with 4 level treatments are ; 0,00 cc/l water (P0); 0,25cc/l water (P1); 0,50 cc/l water (P2) and 0,75 cc/l water (P3).Paramater observed was vine lenght, tuber diameter per sample, tuber lenght per sample, crown wet weight per sample, tuber weight per sample, average tuber weight and harvest index. The result showed that variety treatment had a significant effect on the parameters of tuber lenght per sample and tuber weight per sample. Paclobutrazol significantly affected the paramater of diameter of tuber per sample, number of tubers per sample and tuber weight per sample. The interaction between varieties and paclobutrazol application had a significantly affected the increase in vine length 7-8 weeks after planting and 11-16 weeks after planting, the lenght of tuber per sample and the number of tubers per sample. | en_US |
